“There’s nothing you can’t do if you want it bad enough.”

I entered the world with a massive defect. I attracted death. Like a magnet. I could feel it all around me. It wrapped its icy fingers tight around my chest, leaving me no room for escape. That was my life before I met Jordan Brewer, the boy I became infatuated with. Obsessed with. The boy that became my everything.

I knew he wanted me, too. I saw it. I felt it. But he was older, and wouldn’t act on his feelings. I knew in time I’d make him mine. Just as he promised me a future together, his life was torn apart. He turned away from me and shut me out of his life. Could I convince him to let go of his past and hold on to me? Or would he continue to punish us both for something he couldn’t control?

I am always on the hunt for a good young adult novel. Lately I have been reading a lot within the new adult and adult genres so I was excited to start For Always. I have read two of Danielle Sibarium’s previous works (To My Hero and Into You) and enjoyed both.

Stephanie has labelled herself a “death magnet” as she has experienced quite a few family deaths, including her father and grandmother, at an early age. These deaths have had a lasting impacting on her, causing her to distance herself from her peers. The only person she’s allowed herself to get close to is her neighbor and best friend, Maria. As the pair begin high school it is clear that while Maria thrives in social situations, Stephanie flounders. Maria has set her sights on Jordan Brewer, a senior, to help her climb the social ranks. Stephanie is reluctant to help Maria, as she has a crush on Jordan, but helps her nonetheless. Stephanie is convinced that Jordan has no idea who she is but through a few early interactions it’s clear that she has caught Jordan’s attention. Jordan struggles with the age difference between Stephanie and himself and keeps her at arm’s length. Instead of initiating a romance, Jordan offers Stephanie his friendship. As the story progresses over the course of four years, we see the friendship between Jordan and Stephanie strengthen while they help each other deal with their past.

I think Stephanie is one of the most relatable teenage MC’s that I have ever “met.” She’s insecure, naive, and awkward. I found her to be equal parts infuriating and endearing. As she struggles through high school, Jordan going to college, family deaths and drama, it’s clear that Stephanie has a great deal of strength and perseverance. I enjoyed how normal Stephanie was. Sometimes I think readers expect immensely mature YA MC’s and lose sight of what it’s like to be a teenager. Generally (read: not always), teenagers are immature, impulsive, and selfish. Stephanie was definitely immature, and at times I wanted to scream at her but I also realized that she was real. She showed her good and bad sides throughout the entire novel and while I don’t agree with a lot of the choices she made, they weren’t unexpected from someone her age.

While sometimes I read YA and struggle to understand the feelings expressed by the female MC towards the male MC, I didn’t feel this way about Jordan. Jordan was sweet, supportive, and loyal to Stephanie. He was a really good friend to her, always there when she needed him. Jordan isn’t perfect, though, and as the story progresses and tragedy unfolds we do see some ugly behavior from him. I felt Stephanie’s pain over Jordan’s words because like her, I had put him on a pedestal, thinking he could do no wrong. I think his darker moments made him seem more human, though.

I think the plot progressed well, even with the time jumps. I enjoyed seeing how Stephanie, Maria, and Jordan changed over the years and how the relationships between the three of them unfolded. There were a lot of dramatic moments, but I didn’t think the drama was overdone or unnecessary. Some of the topics handled within For Always were heavy, but if I’ve learned anything from To My Hero, it’s that Sibarium handles heavy topics with the delicacy they deserve.

For Always made me feel like I was a teenager all over again! I felt the angst and joy, the injustices of being a teenager (I can’t ride on my boyfriends motorcycle?! WHY?!), and all the heartbreak of first love. It was a wild ride, but I enjoyed every second of it! I would definitely recommend this book to YA lovers. It was fun, emotional, and real. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next with Stephanie, Jordan, and Maria!

For Always Eternity Book 1 eBook Danielle Sibarium CT Cover Creations Reviews

Thank you Danielle for a great read. I loved everything about this book.

Stephanie had her own issues that caused her to be the introvert that she is. She has a bestfriend but feels like she is always in her bestfriend's shadow. Then she discovered that Jordan, a senior, knows who she is although they've never really spoken before. And the romance takes off. Obviously not without obstacles.

This book took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I felt happy, angst, hope, devastation, hurt, love, and much much more. And I loved it. I cried a bucket load and just couldn't help but finish this book in one go as it was that good. I enjoyed it. I hope you do too. It is a clean YA romance that is suitable for 12+ I think.
I've been in an awkward mood lately and it seems reading books are the only thing to take my mind off the world around me. I've managed to read 4 books in the last 2 days, that's right I said 4. This book however made me sad, happy, and then sad again. It's probably one of the best books I've read this year so far and that's saying a lot. Danielle Sibarium is a talented upcoming YA author and is in amazing company.

So to get back to the book.... Steph is someone I could really relate to. I mean she goes through school with the illusion of this dark cloud following her that brings death, to lock eyes with the person she's had the biggest crush on since middle school. Well without producing spoilers before your able to read this amazing story, which you better do, here's why I relate to the book... I was the smart girl in school that stayed friends with the guys, stuck to the shadow of my friends like Steph does with Maria. I too meet a boy that I can honestly say it was way more than a crush. Needless to say I wasn't granted with the ending Steph and Jordan was but I find the quote,"It's better to have loved and lost to never have loved at all."
For Always might be the only book I've ever read with a main character who shares my name--I've racked my brain and can't think of any others--and it was downright eerie how much I could identify with this novel's Stephanie, right from the very first chapter. Like Stephanie in For Always, I experienced an unusual number of family deaths at a young age, and while I didn't consciously blame myself the way Stephanie did, it definitely had a huge impact on me. So I could definitely identify with Stephanie as a bit of a loner, with a dark side, never feeling like she quite fits in. I felt for her right away, and I loved her even more for sarcastic lines like "I could only aspire to be a wall flower. I was more like wall glue."

Danielle Sibarium really captured Stephanie's fourteen-year-old voice in the first section of the novel, and then, about a third of the way through, we skip ahead a few years. I was impressed by how seamlessly the author wove in this transition and by the way she matured Stephanie's voice while keeping it recognizable.

For Always is more of a character than plot-based story, both a coming-of-age tale and, above all, a love story. Even as Stephanie has relationships with other guys, the reader is waiting and hoping for her and friend-neighbor-soul mate Jordan to get together. Sibarium does a great job of depicting these two wounded people who understand each other in a way no one else can, even as both of them--but especially Jordan--keep getting in the way of their own happiness. Stephanie and Jordan's love can seem fated, larger than life, with one of the most romantic first kisses I've ever read. However, even when the events and relationships in For Always seem exaggerated, the emotions beneath them always ring true. Ultimately, For Always is an incredibly romantic story of loss, healing, and hope.
